Production Update – Final Adjustments Before Manufacturing
4 days ago – Sat, Mar 07, 2026 at 11:48:17 PM

Hi everyone,

First of all, let’s acknowledge the reality: we are late on the March delivery, as many of you probably expected by now. I’m truly sorry for that.

The good news is that we have now paid the first manufacturing invoice, which means things are finally moving forward.

Right now, we are working through the final issues discovered in the prototype to make sure everything is correct before mass production begins. Some of the adjustments we identified include:

Cube and dice colours

Image print quality

Card material quality

Missing zip bags

Double-layer boards not perfectly centred

All of these are relatively simple fixes.

The only significant concern we discovered involves the plastic insert inside the box. At first, everything looked fine, but once I sleeved the cards, I realised there wasn’t enough space to store them properly. This happened after some adjustments were made to fit the dice in the box.

From the very beginning, the plan has always been for the box to fit all cards sleeved, so this needs to be fixed before production.

Since we cannot wait for a completely new full prototype, the current plan is to reprint only the plastic insert with a revised design, test it, and confirm that everything fits correctly before approving mass production.

I know this has been a long wait, and I truly appreciate your patience. We are getting very close, and I’ll let you know as soon as manufacturing officially begins.

One more important note:
I will soon be extracting the shipping information from BackerKit, so if you still need to update your address, please send me an email as soon as possible.

Finally, next weekend, Nataterra will be showcased at Game Expo in Melbourne. If any of you are around, please come say hello — I’d love to meet you in person!

Thank you again for your patience and support. I’ll keep you posted as soon as there’s more news.

With love,
Amir

Final Prototype Day 🎉 We’re So Close!
24 days ago – Mon, Feb 16, 2026 at 01:38:43 AM

Hello everyone!

Today is a big day.

The final prototype before manufacturing has officially arrived 🎉

I can’t even explain the feeling of holding this version in my hands. This is the last step before we give the green light to full production.

Right now, we’re going through everything carefully — checking components, cards, dice, trays, print quality — making sure every single detail is correct. This is the moment where we catch anything small before thousands of copies get printed.

To celebrate, I filmed an unboxing video just for you!

It feels surreal to be this close.

If everything checks out… we move to manufacturing.

Thank you for being on this journey with me.

With love,
Amir 🎲✨

Quick Shipping Charges Update!
26 days ago – Sat, Feb 14, 2026 at 12:59:24 PM

Hello everyone!

Quick shipping update 🙏

I realised I made a mistake with the shipping rates for our friends in the UK — the correct regional rate wasn’t applied.

If you see a higher-than-expected charge in your email, don’t panic. I will manually fix it for each of you. That said, keep reporting this issue to me, so we are 100% sure that it has been taken care.

If you notice anything unusual in your shipping charge over the next 48 hours, please message me on Kickstarter — or even better, email me directly at [email protected] so we can sort it out quickly together

For our friends in Asia: since we don’t have many backers in that region, we’ll be shipping your games through Aetherworks Australia. I’m personally subsidising part of the cost to keep it reasonable for what is a 4kg box.

Thank you all for your patience.
If anything concerns you, please reach out — I’m here.

With love,
Amir ❤️

Samples Update, Shipping Charges Incoming, and Big Travel News ✈️🎲
about 1 month ago – Mon, Feb 09, 2026 at 07:08:05 PM

Hello everyone!

I hope you’re all doing well ❤️

Quick production update first:
I’ve received photos of the dice samples, which means they’ve arrived at the manufacturer and are now being packed together with the rest of the game components. (The dice are produced at a separate facility, so this is a good milestone.) I’m expecting another update from the factory this week, and I’ll keep you posted as soon as I hear more.

Some great legal news as well: NATATERRA is now an officially registered trademark in Australia and the EU 🎉
In the US, there has been an opposition to our application, but our lawyer isn’t concerned. The case will be passed to one of their US agents, who will take it from here. I’ll share updates if anything meaningful changes.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: SHIPPING CHARGES ⚠️

This weekend, BackerKit will start charging backers for shipping.

Please take a moment to double-check the following as soon as possible:

Your shipping address is correct

✅ Your address includes a phone number

✅ The credit/debit card you used has sufficient funds
(failed payments can delay or complicate shipping)

If anything goes wrong, I will personally reach out to you — but please don’t rely only on me. A quick check now saves a lot of trouble later 🙏

Events & travel news ✈️

I’m super excited to share that Nataterra will be at GAME EXPO UK in Birmingham!
My UK visa is approved, flights are booked, and we’ll have a stand where we’ll be running demos and selling copies of the game. I’ll be there with my partner and my sister, which makes this even more special.

After that, we’ll head to Dublin to visit a dear friend and long-time Nataterra playtester, then to Rome for a well-earned break before heading back to Melbourne.

On top of that, I’m packing up a previous prototype to ship to Game Expo UK, as Nataterra has been submitted for Best Strategy Game 🤞
Let’s cross our fingers.

Story & writing progress ✍️

I’m still having my weekly writing sessions, and I’m really enjoying them. I’m not rewriting the story — just improving its quality. The biggest lessons so far:

As a new writer, I tend to assume the reader knows what I’m thinking (but they don’t 😅)

I describe too much to the reader instead of letting them experience things through the eyes of the characters

Because of this, I’m thinking of holding back the story delivery and releasing it after fulfilment instead of before, as originally I was planning. It was going to be easy anyway, as it is a digital copy, and I want it to be right.

We’ve completed four chapters, and we’re moving into the fifth next session. I’ll keep you updated here, too.

Thank you so much to everyone. I know this has been a long journey — it has been long for me too. I’ve learned a lot along the way, and honestly, if I were to start again tomorrow, I’d probably do it in half the time with far fewer mistakes.

Which is good news… because I’m definitely not done with Nataterra yet 😉

Thank you for your patience, your trust, and your support.

With love,
Amir ❤️

Good News: Samples in Production + What’s Next
about 2 months ago – Thu, Jan 22, 2026 at 03:15:02 AM

Hello everyone,

Good news at last 🙌

The samples are being manufactured right now. Hopefully, I’ll have them in hand very soon.

We’re getting close to the next phase, so I want to take a moment to remind everyone to double-check your shipping address in BackerKit, especially if you’ve moved since backing the game. Once shipping charges are collected, this becomes much harder to fix.

If the samples come back clean (fingers crossed 🤞), we’ll be able to proceed straight into full manufacturing. I’ll share photos and updates as soon as they arrive.

In the meantime, I’ve been taking weekly writing sessions with Joshua, our consultant and editor. These have been incredibly helpful — we’re strengthening the world-building and shifting the storytelling so players experience the story through the eyes of the characters, rather than being told what’s happening. It’s been exciting to revisit this part of Nataterra.

I’ve also asked the manufacturer for an updated production timeline. As soon as I receive it, I’ll share a more realistic expectation with you. For now, I’m waiting alongside you.

One more important step completed: we’ve officially locked in Tabletop Global Logistics as our EU business representative. This clears a major bureaucratic hurdle — and thankfully, it’s something I won’t have to repeat for future Nataterra expansions.

Thank you all for your patience and continued support. I genuinely can’t wait to open the final version of Nataterra with you — and get it onto your tables.

With love,
Amir ❤️
